Identity
Keep a pet license until the next one replaces it, then a year more.
The newest one is the one that counts. The one before it is kept a year for a claim or a question about the earlier term.
What it is
Pet license is a license under Identity.
What Thaw takes off the page
Pet · Issued by · Tag number · Expires
Every value is copyable and correctable, and a correction is never overwritten. Numbers that identify you (account and policy numbers, VINs) stay sealed and are blanked from search.
What Thaw watches for
The expiryComes up 30 days ahead. Fines in most cities, and a lost pet without a current tag is harder to return.
When to shred
A year after the next one replaces it. Thaw notices the replacement, files the older one behind it, and counts the year from there.
Also under Identity
Social Security card · Visa · Adoption papers · Birth certificate · Death certificate · Driver's license · Every kind
